It is actually easier than that Alan.. I would greatly
appreciate this not be posted to the list.. however..
look here :)

http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/decryption.html

Basically whenever you use security features the document
is encrypted so that you cant just view it like a regular
PDf, whining solved.. I could write a quick CFX that would
do this CFX_PDF_DECRYPT, its totally legal to do so at
any rate the code is all in C it would take me an evening but
I dont like making waves, and posting stuff like this
to the list, because I feel it would greatly alienate
Mike, Judith, and Steven and anyone else who has put some effort
into the book. Off list, with people I feel appropriate
to share with I will share this information sinec you have figured
out your own way to do this.. heh :) Anyways..
back to work with myself.

Tee hee, and you thought the ASCII mation was amazing :)

If you can print it, you can print it to disk with any PostScript driver,
then run Acrobat Distiller on it. You've got a virgin, totally copyable PDF
file. Or, if you take same PostScript file and toss it into, say
GhostScript, or any other PostScript decompiler, you'll get text which can
be copied.

Trust me, any effort spent on locking out cut-paste is totally, 100% futile.
Your book is geared toward developers; they know how to get around all of
that. If honor alone isn't sufficient, you should stick to paper versions of
the book...
