This would be great. We use K2 and it is an incredible tool, if you have the
knowledge and time to master it. A good example of what you can achieve with
K2 is cdnow.com. You can slaughter a search term (mispell it) and almost
always still get what you are looking for.

I have experimented with the Verity SDK in Coldfusion and found it difficult
and limited due to the implementation Allaire did, and lack of good
documentation/support.

Normally Alan, I am inclined to agree with you. However, not so in this
case. :o) We had 2 Reps from Verity come to speak at our last CFUG meeting
in Jacksonville, FL. There suite of products was nothing short of amazing.
We did get the skinny on the relationship between Allaire and Verity
however.

One of the reps was a technical sales rep who deals directly with Allaire.
He had just received word during our meeting that Allaire had signed a deal
with Verity to package Verity's "Advanced" search engine technology called
"K2". The features we were shown on K2 made the Verity 97 search engine
look silly (not too hard to do, I know). It was way too early to know when
they would be implementing the new K2 engine, maybe "Neo" release if we are
lucky. The rep said that Allaire could have it packaged and ready to go in
as little as three months, so that could make it a candidate for the 5.0
release as well but I doubt it.

The deal with Verity pushing CF users back to Allaire is that Allaire only
licenses the Verity SDK. They are responsible for what the final product
does therefore Allaire would be the only one who really "could" answer any
of the questions directly related to their implementation of verity.

Sorry to be long winded, just thought you guys/gals would like to know.
