I like the single dash idea. Hmmm...sure, why not? We can just expand the
spec so that it will work with either single or double dashes (same for plus
signs on global data).

I also use Studio, and find the color issue to be distracting. I confess to
solving this by using a single dash "->".  It's a minor thing in a way, but
if a lot of us are using Studio, it would be great to deal with it in the
spec.
