Yes, I've been doing this for a couple years. In fact, I built a database
where I keep the redirection info. So when a request comes in I can divert
that traffic to a different site, a page on my site, or code that's stored
in the database. The nice thing about doing it the DB is that I can make
changes (send traffic somewhere else) without actually changing any code.
However, the trick is to find a host that will let you point more than 1
domain at an IP without charging you too much. Most hosts SUCK when it comes
to that. I had a couple hundred domains at my shanje.com site ($50 a month
includes SQL Server) before I decided to go for a dedicated server.
