If you are sending only 61 records (your FP batch/chunk) from FPro
through the imposer and your stack is set 2-up at 123, then you should
still only get 31 pages of output - thirty pages with 2 images on them
and 1 page with only 1 image on it. 30 x 2 = 60, then 60 + 1 = 61
records.

This is not what I'm assuming Mike "originally desired" when he sends
all 243 records. He would want 122 pages of output - 121 with the double
image, and 1 with a single image.

However, even if I send mine in smaller "batches" (as Mike suggested) of
say 10 records and set at 2-up stack to be 5 deep (2 x 5 = 10), the
incompatibility error still occurs and then FP server crashes. I should
"expect" 5 pages with two images on each page. As long as the .fpi
program is set for a double sided document it should not matter even if
the pdf template has 2 or more pages, as long as only two pages are
being output (some might be unused and therefore not included in the
output).

Unless I missing something here, it has been my understanding that the
stack value multiplied by the number of "n-up" that the layout is
imposed should equal the amount of records sent in a "chunk" or "batch".
If you set a 2-up for a 5-deep stack, then FusionPro should expect to
receive 10 records for every "batch".

In Alex's example, it seems to be backwards. 61 records x 2-up = the
stack value of 123 (rounded up).

Still confusing.

Try setting the stack value to 123, and your chunks at 61.
Does it help?

I have never been able to use this feature either

For testing trying on small scale

Have a two page pdf file

I have a data base with 243 records

I am imposing two up

Since I cant stack in 121.5 I set the stack in imposer to 122

Now I try to impose to pdf on desktop
I set multiple files to 61 which is half my stack count

It reports not compatible with impositon and creates a 244 page pdf
since it
is two sided
