There's another lesson to be learned here about "misunderstanding". I
understood Ed perfectly well and was pointing out that he called
the protocols "trumped up". I was also showing appreciation for the
additional information, that added context to Ed's description. It is easy
to be misinterpreted when one is being subtle or ironic. That's probably
why forgeries are successful -- they typically are devoid of subtly and
irony (unless one mistakes scorn for irony).
