Patrilocal girls? Tell "OMD" about this one!
Hello, GB!
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (a rock band) has a song -- I haven't listened to it recently:
Tesla Girls
I seem to remember it's worth looking up. I just bought a CD of a different record of theirs which I originally bought as an LP] ca. 1980:
Architecture and Morality.
One of the songs on that album is, intriguingly, titled:
She's leaving....
["Be seeing you" -- #6]
I can't deny that, personally, I wish I'd been born a beautiful woman that I could have found some junk bond trader to underwrite (aka marry) me so I could have devoted my day-hours to writing the great American novel of the late 20th century that never got written (or maybe a philosophy text that never got written either).
I say:
From those to whom much has been given, much should be expected.
Since Maslow's hierarchy is foundationally addative (each layer builds on the previous one), an attractive woman should make the best use of her resources, both for herself and for universal culture. I can well imagine a 9-figure junk bond trader who would find a woman who was both good in bed and also carried on "The Man Without Qualities" (about him?) while he was at the office intriguing....
