It's crystal clear that the "Amero" currency would be under U$ control, i.e. Canada and Mexico would simply lose their currencies (autonomy). In other words, why not simply call a spade a spade and keep the name "dollar"? "Amero" would only be a fraud in labeling. (and what about South America?)
And don't forget that "the end of nation states" would also be the end of democracy, since the nation-state is the only viable medium for democratic elections and referendums. So there's nothing to cheer about, except for the neo-cons of course...
