Ed, Don't agree much with Krugman, but I think he has a point. Has European countries stayed with their own currencies, when their economies began to get messy, it would have shown up in their monetary exchange rates. As it is we have strong Euro states like Germany in bed with casualties like Greece with no weakening drachma to give warning..
