You can infer that there is increasing competition between the eight or nine world-wide car and truck makers. (And the Chinese car makers have hardly begun to market and manufacture abroad yet.) Some CEO said recently that there's only room for four or five altogether. Profit margins, even of the more successful ones, are already too thin for comfort. I wouldn't be surprised if Hyundai, Kia and Nissan are three of the dealerships in your home town. (The South Koreans in particular take the principle of competition so seriously that even though Hyundai and Kia have a large overlapping ownership and share many chassis, engine and other components they compete against each other in the market place as fiercely as against anybody else.)
