Lawry I like the analogy as often the parts do not agree with the whole
and as one part (local) may be controlling the rest (global), actions
taken may not be suited to the whole (global body). I.e. is the guy led
by his brain or his dick or is the country being led by someone thinking
logically or emotionally, or following his dick (sorry , could not
resist that one). As above, so below; the expanded realm mimics the
smaller realm but perhaps with more complexity. But the basis should be
the same.

Greetings,
The description of the study made it seem, at best, only to offer much
smaller and even then tenuous conclusions than the researcher state and the
study supports. But I find the initial thought interesting: looking at
things "globally", vs "locally". I think it merits further examination,
including political topics. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict comes
immediately to mind, and the global/local distinction may be of true and
significant use here.
Cheers,
Lawry

Interesting. So, by this light; is this an age-old, deeply ingrained
concept? One that has followed us from the cave all through our history? And
therefore something that should be known but not worth understanding? It is
hard wired - not learned???

Pete, even though I do not like the findings either, I think you may
be projecting. I do not know what sector of society the "responders"
were from but from what is constantly displayed on TV and in the
movies (and in bars) suggests that the responses are likely correct
for our male dominated and misogynist oriented society. Just another
example from the new Sodom and Gomorrah.
But sex is sex and status is status; sex comes in small parts and
status is
big.<))

Obvously the responders were just displaying their contempt for the
condescending and insulting test. i would probably be strongly
tempted to do the same thing.
