As for me, having been deprived of decent reading/thinking material after a fortnight in an acute hospital ward, her book will serve as a welcome (?) into the real world. I imagine her book is an extension of a long essay she wrote on Reuters about a year ago after a series of interviews with some of the richest men in the world. What it deals with is the tremendous disparity in wealth between the very rich and the 99%. Henry George figures into it because Freeland says that a lot of the income the very rich get is derived from owning, not producing, i.e. they are "rentiers". Freeland, who comes from remote northern Alberta, has done very well as an international journalist. I believe Harry Pollard knew her when she was a child.
