Yes, most of the Yanks that I knew who moved to Canada moved to "the
Peaceable Kingdom" not to Harper's Canada which seems to be continuously
looking for a war, any war he can get us involved in (including one's that
were fought 200 years ago... presumably so he can pay off his war
profiteering friends and satisfy his supporters who are fixated on uniforms,
discipline and guns...

Was that addressed to me or to Arthur?  We moved to Canada in 1969.
But we moved to Nova Scotia which, I later learned, was regarded by much of
the rest of the nation as Canada's hilbilly Ozarks. In addition, I moved to
a *part* of Nova Scotia that, in many ways, was still in the early '50s in
comparison with, say, central Ohio.  There were more families, ours among
them, on my 6-mile long rural road who owned draught animals that those that
didn't.

No, I don't think it was Harper's Canada.  Because we had no phone, two guys
from the government came to our door to make sure we were enrolled in the
health care program.

Or maybe that's not what you were asking...
