Karen,

While I agree with a lot of your analysis, I am not quite ready to write
Bush's actions as simply shallow since they were developed by his 'brain
trust'. I do feel that his interest in invading Iraq fits with the self
interest cell he has around him. He realizes that there is a risk of
deflation in the US. His group has to walk a narrow tightrope between
deflating worker earnings or moving all business to other countries and
deflating the economy so that demand drops. If oil prices get outy of
control, the US may be done for [since a lot of the world uses cow pies
as fuel and would not be as adversely affected].

The irony of all this is that the center piece of what is a global
conspiracy represented by the WTO is that breaking down trade barriers
will put the Chinese, the Indians and others [Clinton's supporters] in
the driver's seat. Further, thawing relations between the Chinese and
Russians, with Japan trying desperately to get on board, are leading to a
total reconfiguring on world economic power.

With 200 million middle class Indians [who still work a lot cheaper than
middle class Americans], with the Dow dropping like a shaken souffle, I
feel that Bush is well aware that the US is losing control and
transnational corporate control is not going to save the American elite.

Bill
