We didn't think like that then.  Most of our wood came from the Queen
Charlottes.  I worked on the boom crews and occasionally some huge logs
would come along - twelve or more feet in diameter.  We marvelled at their
size, and thought about how much pulp wood, hence paper, they would produce.
Sometimes someone, in an unguarded moment of sensitivity, would venture that
it was a shame that something so grand and so ancient would wind up as
newsprint or toilet paper, but that's as far as it went.
