Berlusconi certainly wouldn't criticize militarization -- on the contrary, he's advancing militarization more than any other EU country: Recently, Berlusconi demanded that military spending should be exempt from the EU's financial stability rules, i.e. that EU countries can make new debts beyond the 3% of GDP limit as long as the new debt is for military purchases. Not even Tony The Poodle went this far.
