Thank you for going into that. I inserted this into my .fvwm2rc and got a very smooth and eye-friendly grey background, but without a gradient. It is not what I thought, but it's good. Point is that I don't quite understand the syntax, have been sitting over the fvwm2 manpage, hmm I think I read more on modules and come back then. Cheers, erich
