What didn't work was your original line:

Maybe because evolution likes to change it's windowtitle a lot?
[FVWM][__explain_placement]: placed new window 0x1c00084 'Evolution - Mail':
desk 0 (current desk)
current page
screen: current screen: 1280 0 1280x1024 (current screen)
position 1280 0, placed by fvwm (normal placement)
placement method: MinOverlapPercent
