Hi! You asked: > Am I the only FVWM + Eclipse user out here?
No.
I'm using eclipse 3.1.2 with fvwm 2.5.16 and Xorg 7.0.0 on an Athlon
550 with 448 MB of ram. It's quite a bit sluggish and I have to take
care not to run too many other memory- or cpu-hungry applications at
the same time (e.g. firefox is out of the question, while opera is
ok), but I don't see any of the problems you describe.
I just tested it... I displayed the help contents and then "Help ->
About Eclipse -> Plugin Details" and scrolled it... I could see no
repainting or flicker in the window below it.
I doubt that this will help you...
Your description sounds like you run the CDE + eclipse combination on
the same machine as the fvwm + eclipse combination, but let me
specifically ask if this is actually the case.
"Everything else is identical" means it's the same box + OS + other
software?
Which hardware, operating system, (distribution, if applicable), X
Window versions do you use? The output of xdpyinfo might also be
interesting.
What about running eclipse in twm?
Looking through the mailing list archives I just noticed that I
already gave that statement and asked the same question but received
no answer from you as yet.
Regards
