Friedrichs, Yes, the two machines are identical; only the WM is different. I am executing on a Sparc Sun-Fire V440, running Solaris 8. I use a RealVNC VNC Server as my X Server and a Tight VNC client from a Win2k PC as my client. Executing a VNC Server with twm as the WM works fine (as does CDE as I previously posted). Older versions of FVWM with the same VNC Server also work fine. The output of xdpyinfo is as follows: name of display: pennsylvania:99.0 version number: 11.0 vendor string: The X.Org Group vendor release number: 6600 maximum request size: 4194300 bytes motion buffer size: 256 bitmap unit, bit order, padding: 32, MSBFirst, 32 image byte order: MSBFirst number of supported pixmap formats: 2 supported pixmap formats: depth 1, bits_per_pixel 1, scanline_pad 32 depth 24, bits_per_pixel 32, scanline_pad 32 keycode range: minimum 8, maximum 255 focus: window 0x280000d, revert to Parent number of extensions: 18 BIG-REQUESTS DEC-XTRAP DOUBLE-BUFFER DPMS Extended-Visual-Information FontCache LBX MIT-SHM MIT-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD RECORD SECURITY SHAPE SYNC TOG-CUP VNC-EXTENSION XC-APPGROUP XC-MISC XTEST default screen number: 0 number of screens: 1 screen #0: dimensions: 1400x1050 pixels (356x267 millimeters) resolution: 100x100 dots per inch depths (2): 1, 24 root window id: 0x26 depth of root window: 24 planes number of colormaps: minimum 1, maximum 1 default colormap: 0x21 default number of colormap cells: 256 preallocated pixels: black 0, white 16777215 options: backing-store YES, save-unders YES largest cursor: 1400x1050 current input event mask: 0xda003f KeyPressMask KeyReleaseMask ButtonPressMask ButtonReleaseMask EnterWindowMask LeaveWindowMask StructureNotifyMask SubstructureNotifyMask SubstructureRedirectMask PropertyChangeMask ColormapChangeMask number of visuals: 2 default visual id: 0x22 visual: visual id: 0x22 class: TrueColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff, 0xff00, 0xff0000 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits visual: visual id: 0x23 class: DirectColor depth: 24 planes available colormap entries: 256 per subfield red, green, blue masks: 0xff, 0xff00, 0xff0000 significant bits in color specification: 8 bits Thanks for your help! -- Jake Colman Sr. Applications Developer Principia Partners LLC Harborside Financial Center 1001 Plaza Two Jersey City, NJ 07311 +1 (201) 209-2467 www.principiapartners.com
