I had smilar configuration with yours on my customer . 2xUltra 10 with CP
40SP4 and SBHA30 and 1 CPSB Mgmgt on NT. We tried to copy all conf and
database dirs to new systems after installing CP41SP1 and SBFC10. But We had
some strange problems like double smtp packets (totaly same emails to local
net) and packet lost with info "Unknown TCP Packet Established" Since didn't
get any support from Checkpoint or StoneBeat, I installed whole system again
without backward compatibility and defined all rules on the new Mgmt
machine. Everything works fine now. There is no Unknown error message any
more.

Subject: [FW1] Upgrade Concerns
I have just received my copy of CheckPoint 2000 CD which includes the
FW-1/VPN-1 release 4.1. I am currently running CheckPoint FireWall-1
release 4.0 Patch 3.
I have the following configuration:
3x Sun Ultra Enterprise 250 Servers. 2 of those servers are our actual
firewalls running in High Availability with StoneBeat (v3.0). The other
Sun is the Firewall Management station and StoneBeat Management station.
I plan on working on one box at a time, but am concerned with any
upgrade concerns any of you all may have gone through. Before I go
about mucking about with my firewall, I wanted to ask (I know this has
probably been posted a million times), have any of you had any issues or
severe problems, or know of any tips or tricks involved in upgrading my
release of Firewall-1?
I'm thinking of upgrading the FWMaster first, then FWSecondary then
failing over to the secondary and upgrading FWPrimary.
Any suggestions?
