I agree that manipulating XML at the DOM level in an object-oriented
interface can be a little bit tedious. But the DOM classes aren't
_that_ bad after all, and they're no worse than most object-oriented
manipulation of hierarchical structures usually are. Any wrapper
classes that give the same level of functionality as the DOM classes
likely would have the same level of complexity. They'll only have
different method names.
While we welcome proposals, we tend not to approve solutions that either
duplicate or else wrap classes that already exist in PHP 5, unless the
new solution provides some compelling added value. Changing all the
method names to ones that are easier to type is not sufficient added
value. ;-)
