Here at NSCC, I know the Java instructor uses Eclipse.  Tim, you used 
Ultra-Edit... I have heard of that; never used it.  I use an editor 
called EditPlus for all my shell script development and most other 
non-programming uses, in fact I no longer use Notepad even.  I really 
like it, it has syntax highlighting and sometimes auto-completion; also, 
it has the ability to work on remote systems and/or save to remote 
systems using FTP.  If anyone is interested, the URL is
