I've been playing with Linux since October of 2005, it only took a month or two before it became my primary OS, and I'm mostly an Ubuntu man. I do have an Arch Linux server that I set up as an educational experience and which hasn't skipped a beat since I set it up. > - Are any of you active on a Linux forum of any type? Heh. Well, you've got this one of course, and I'm still active in the Bloomington LUG mailing list (that's where I'm from). I'm also active in the Ubuntu Indiana group (mailing list and forums), and the Ubuntu LoCo Contacts list, the Ubuntu Venezuela mailing list (I'm also from Venezuela; I'm from a lot of places ;-) ), and the Ubuntu Education list. I also follow the K12OSN list, but have yet to actually post anything. > - What are the most important things to learn in Linux once you feel fairly > comfortable with it. Wow. Ummm. It's kind of a subjective question. The most important things to learn in Linux are the things that will enable you to get the results you want. For instance, if you want to make a media center designed around Linux, then your most important things to know may involve how multimedia works, and how to plug all the MythTV pieces together successfully. > - Could you give me some good links to a few tutorials? What sorts of things do you wanna learn to do on Linux? > Thanks, > Nick Welcome aboard!
