Interesting - I haven't yet made the move myself, except for one of our old Acer tablets, and it doesn't work at all there - Intrepid can't configure a screen for X, and nothing I've found so far online sheds any light on that...

In playing with the Acer, though, I was a bit irked that a lot of things that used to be controlled by xorg.conf (and I'm USED to xorg.conf, dammit) are now under the control of HAL (and HAL and I have a checkered history together... "Configure the USB device, HAL." "I'm sorry, Vern... I can't do that...") ;)

Ah, well, things change...

Cheers,
Vern

So far I'm less impressed with Ibex than I am with the advances I saw
from Feisty to Gutsy and Gusty to Hardy. Been running the betas for a
few weeks now and haven't seen too many advances.

My network manager applet is still borked (won't show an icon to
list/connect to wireless). I haven't really noticed any compelling
changes otherwise could be the machine I'm running it on and the tasks I
do with it though.

Nick - it sounds like you liked NM 0.7, how did you do your upgrade?
Fresh install, by CD, or via update manager?
