I don't remember for certain, let me google a bit... Okay, I think it's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VistA He was encouraged to move to it because "the feds will reimburse us some of the cost and our current software vendor just has not kept up with the changes over the past 5-10 years." I know very little about it, but my wife—who works in medicine and has been thoroughly infected with the Free Software bug—approves. I guess that moving to it will require some new hardware, so he was asking me about that when he tossed the idea of "I Pad type hardware" into the mix. I don't know that there are specific things he knows he wants to accomplish with the tablets beyond the obvious benefits of portability, etc. I think it's just a direction he wants to go and since they're going to be overhauling their EMR, this is as good a time as any to throw more change into the mix. ;-) _______________________________________________ Fwlug mailing list [email protected] http://fortwaynelug.org/mailman/listinfo/fwlug_fortwaynelug.org This is a public list and all posts are archived publicly.
