There's a government grant to offset doctors offices costs in adopting
EMRs that qualify as furthering the cause of "meaningful use" (don't
ask me...) http://www.switch.purdue.edu/

So my mother in law's pediatric office, down south of Greenwood, IN
decided to get themselves a new EMR system.

VistA, from the Department of Veteran Affairs, was one solution they
were looking at; my wife was having a conversation with my father in
law about this when she was down there last weekend, and they were
leaning towards that one.

However, it turns out the provider they've decided to go with are
*not* open source, just gratis...
