What's the model # and revision # of the Belkin card? I've used several with the Ralink drivers. If this was a card that was previously recognized as "Airport", there was specific version of Tiger's 802.11 kext that had a .plist file that contained all the 3- party card descriptions, and if you had a newer .plist it would only contain the "Apple" cards, so you'd have to manually replace or copy these 3-party .plist info.
