I can't check at the moment, but aren't there a couple of keys that,  
when pressed at boot, will eject the drive?

It might be worth checking if they (whichever ones they may be) might  
be a bit stuck, or dusty.

You could also try blowing some compressed air around the eject button  
itself, it might be catching, and not fully returning after being  
pressed.
