No ideas for you, but my Pismo didn't do this with the original DVD 
drive, but it does do this with the slot-loading DVD/CDRW tray I have 
in it from MCE Technologies (which I've now had in the Pismo probably 
about twice as I long as I had the original tray).

FWLIW.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] 10GB HD that originally came with my Pismo is STILL kicking, 
albeit it lives now in an external drive closure; meanwhile, at least 
two HDs that were meant to replace it over the years have long since 
bit the dust.  Go figure.
