That right there probably explains why I couldn't get anywhere with
the Lombard.

Basically, after my experiences with a white iBook G3 a while back. I
thought the Powerbooks(G3) operated similarly.

I never tried USB booting on the Pismo. since the CD drive had
firewire as well.  I did find a drive cable that was the same price as
I paid for the laptop ($10). But I must wait until they have it in
stock again.

Like PeterH said, It's not possible to boot them from a USB CD. To
clarify I was using Firewire on the Pismo. I was unable to boot
anything on the Lombard.

I was not trying to boot anything on the Wallstreet. That poor
Wallstreet is my main laptop, at least until I can get one of the
newer ones working.  It was used to format drives for the other two.
