Well most of the fuss is over the fact that like the MBA, the battery  
in the 17" is not removable.

But I believe this battery goes further than the previous  
implementations of "Intelligent Batteries" by controlling it down to  
the individual cell level.

People will whinge and cry about the non removable battery...I'm  
waiting for the first "But it won't last through a 12 hour trans- 
pacific flight!!!1!"

Uhh, neither would the owner, if they seriously tried to use a 17"  
laptop on a seat tray...the people in the seat next to them would  
strangle 'em along about hour 5....
