I donno about a 12 hr stint. But... The specs given don't include the use of wi-fi and bluetooth. So the actual battery charge life is, what, 1/2 of what Apple claims? As to the battery's cycle life... 1000 recharges. That's only 2.7 years, figuring one recharge per day. Some say it's actually longer, but ... most high-end type laptop users tend to use them as their main machines. So the thing will get recharged daily maybe even twice a day! Intelligent battery -- nice - premium cost for that repair then. Batteries are NOT covered by AppleCare. This is on top of the 23% repair rate (the WORST in the industry) that Apple is already not talking about. Sorry. I can't imagine buying an EXPENSIVE laptop that has a 100% repair rate in the 2nd or 3rd year. ...Normally I wouldn't count a consumable such as a battery to be a "repair". But that's because normally when the battery is beginning to have problems, I can order a replacement and slap it in myself. 30 secs of downtime. Having to take it to an Apple authorized repair center???? That's DAYS of downtime. That's a REPAIR, not maintenance.
