Who has Bt on whrn they are not using it, indeed how much is it used ? The specs say up to 8 hrs on the low power GPU on wireless > As to the battery's cycle life... 1000 recharges. That's only 2.7 > years, figuring one recharge per day. Some say it's actually longer, > but ... most high-end type laptop users tend to use them as their > main machines. So the thing will get recharged daily maybe even > twice a day! And do they run it on battery for the full cycle every day ? I had a 17in MBP for 2 years as my ONLY machine used 12hrs a day and it only had cc after 2 years. > Intelligent battery -- nice - premium cost for that repair then. > Batteries are NOT covered by AppleCare. Covered by the 1 year warranty and who knows what the replacement cost might be - maybe the same as a replacement battery at present ? > ...Normally I wouldn't count a consumable such as a battery to be a > "repair". But that's because normally when the battery is beginning > to have problems, I can order a replacement and slap it in myself. > 30 secs of downtime. Having to take it to an Apple authorized repair > center???? That's DAYS of downtime. That's a REPAIR, not > maintenance. Why ? IF the battery fails within your usage them it would need replacement, thats an IF and do you know how long it'll take to replace it - if they are as easy to open and work on as the new MBP then it'll be a 10 minute job. -- Best wishes Malcolm Cornelius - The Powerbook Fanatic http://www.pbfanatic.co.uk --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's G-Books list, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
