Simon...sorry, I'm only seeing this now. As far as I know, you ought not 
to worry about only using Apple branded HDs in your Pismo. The only such 
discs I used on mine were the stock 6gbs. All my Lombards and Pismos 
currently use non Apple branded discs. Sorry you had to waste money like 
that. If you're still looking I could sell you perhaps a 20 GB...i 
really don't know what I have lying about. Let me know though and I 
could use the weekend to dig in the basement.
