I don't think you would have to worry about the CF card vs Microdrive. This used to be somewhat of an issue in the past, but the flash memory technology has improved exponentially over the past few years. You should not have an issue, especially using brand name cards. BTW, I'm glad you've had success, I've been pondering this project for either my 2400 or Lombard for a while now, and if you've got it working, I think it's time I do the same.
