I been getting questions on specifics on hardware used and resellers. I
will post the hardware specs here but not the vendor names
1. CF-IDE adapter is GREEN with text reading

CF-IDE44/2.0mm ADAPTER V.HO
DMA/Panel LED/4assemble holes

a part number on the back reads 8102R-F2

eBay prices are down to about $1-$2 incl. shipping from Hong Kong.
If the eBay photo matches it is probably the same one.

There is a jumper pin and I left it set to 2-3 setting and it works
fine. You will need to remove one
connector pin from the second row to fit into the female adapter.
Snapped it off with pliers and works fine.

2. Centon 8GB 200x Compact Flash

http://www.centon.com/pn/8gbacf200x

I can't find this card for sale now but its a known card that works. I will
try other cards too, I think >30ms r/w speed will work.

I will post some battery time benchmarks using the CF drive vs. an IBM 4200
travelstar if anyone is interested. Give me a week or so.
