This one statement, though, I can personally attest is NOT true:

Both of my drives are formatted as Apple Partition Maps -- I just  
verified that -- and just about 60 seconds ago I re-verified that the  
Book (MB471LL/A) *will* boot from one of the 10.5.8 partitions.

It's annoying that I won't be able to work on the 10.4.11 and 10.3.9  
partitions on the Book in the way I want to, but I suppose I'll survive!
