An Intel based mac will have hard time (if it works at all)
booting a PowerPC based OS. Add to this the fact that Apple has
had a bad habit of rigging the firmware on machines so that they
will not boot to an OS older than what they shipped with (we
got a whole classroom of new Macs shipped with 10.5.6, our
existing classroom configurations based on 10.5.4 would NOT work
on them we had to make all new installations based on 10.5.6).

Even if you GET the 10.4.11 to boot on the new Intel mac it will
not run well - code written for PowerPC Macs has to be run through
an emulation layer which they call Rosetta (although RubeGoldbergMatic
would be more accurate since anytime you emulate one hardware on
another it is dicey at best). At the school we do not mix and match
at all - no PowerPC code gets run on the Intel machines at all.
