I just updated it to 10.4.11 and downloaded Java updates through #9.  
The Airport card is the one with the ribbon cable attached, Apple  
part # 661-3619. Do these airport cards go bad? This would be my  
first experience with one that had if it is the case. One note to  
add: when I went into the system folder and checked the airport log  
and the airport hookup_d log and both had a "bootstrap error 1102"  
message(???)
