Dunno, never heard it on mine, and I couldn't find a list of known POST code noises for it. MacTracker has 'chimes of death' for many Mac models, but not the Powerbooks. Off topic, but fwiw, the "Carl Sagan"/"BHA"/"LAW" (aka the PowerMac 7100) has the full screeching brakes, car crash sequence as it's COD; later models only have the last 'breaking glass' fragment of the crash. I didn't know that...I am intimately familiar with it though..my very first PowerMac came to me with that noise. It was a 7200, and the DIMM had gotten knocked loose during shipping. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
