As far as I can tell it would work - all the G3 laptops (with
the exception of the white G3 iBooks apparently) used the same
basic power supply. I have run my Wallstreet off of the later
G3 "yo yo" adapters for years without issue, and in fact I
retrofitted one with a G4 connector so I could have a spare for
my aluminum G4...the voltages are the same across the whole line.
If it starts to feel more than body-temperature warm shut down and
discontinue using it, but for a short test to make sure the computer
is working OK there shouldn't be a problem.
