Apparently, most combined USB 2.0/Firewire PCMCIA cards work right out
of the box, at least on OS X (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong,
but that has been my experience). They're bulky, though, and stick out
like a whole sore hand. Plus, there's not much point for them on a
Pismo, unless both its native FW ports have gone dead or something.

I got it myself. It works great, and the best part, you don't even
notice it's there.
