"Another alternative is a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter. This lets you plug a > 2.5" drive into the power and data cables for a 3.5" drive."
Clarks suggestion is how I have installed OSX onto my Wallstreet and earlier versions like OS8 and 9 onto older powerbooks with failed CD drives by one of these adapters. About $4 to $5 off ebay - probably the cheapest way of doing it unless you already have access to an external 2.5" IDE drive enclosure. Just take the HD out of the Kanga , plug it into one of these adapters and then plug the adapter into a spare IDE plug in a Mac G3/G4 tower. Very easy. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2-5-to-3-5-Laptop-IDE-HardDisk-HDD-Adapter-Freeshipping_W0QQitemZ270483185861QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_Components?hash=item3efa0de0c5 Stewie > Date: Tue, 10 Nov 2009 17:46:56 -0800 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: Kanga powerbook questions from new owner > > > suprdave wrote: > > I just revived a Kanga G3 and got some questions about it. > > > > First, the screen hinges are a bit loose. any way to tighten them up? > > > > The original hard drive was having problems in that it was booting > > slow and having problems reading so I replaced it and got OS 8.1 > > installed on it.
