I've got one of these in my Pismo (500 MHz, OS 10.4.11) and it seems to work fine. I've been using it for almost a year. It's actually in an expansion bay so I transfer it between the desktop Pismo (with all the cables attached) and the travel Pismo (with the good battery and screen). It seems at least as fast as the 5400 RPM Samsung drive and is totally silent. I would expect better battery life but haven't tested. If someone wants to suggest a benchmark program I could be more specific. There are two flavors of Transcend drives, the M suffix is the slower one but it seems to work well enough for a 10 year old computer.
