Hi All I earlier tried to put a 512 RAM stick in a Wallstreet, I put
it in the top slot, the machine booted OK but Profiler sh owed it to

processor got real hot, but maybe that was my imagination, except it
felt like it may burn my finger. I this an indication of a poor
hardware choice or improper slot selection?

Wallstreets max out at 2 x 256Mb. I couldn't even get that far when I
tried it, IIRC it choked on 2 256Mb SO-DIMMs. It works okay with 256 + 128.

The bigger memory shouldn't cause heating. More likely the heatsink didn't connect properly on re-assembly. Make sure you renew the thermal compound.
