As Matt says don't run any machine without the heatsink attached.
You also won't get the Wallstreet to " see " more than 512mb - 1 x 256mb in the 
lower slot and 1 x 256mb in the upper.
"Moreover the memory controller chip in the WS can only address 
modules with a maximum number of 16 chips, and each chip can be of 
128 megabit density (128 mbits x 16 = 2048 megabits, i.e. 2048 / 8 = 
256 megabytes."
