I believe you said you cloned this System. Perhaps you forgot to
add the XPF stuff to the volume? Each individual volume must have
XPF "installed" onto it separately. Also, sometimes the XPF files
can become corrupted or bad. My recommendation is to "uninstall"
XPF from the volume and search out the couple invisible files that
are usually not deleted and delete them (search "XPF" with the
"invisible" trait checked). Then reinstall "everything" to the
volume you can't boot and try again.
Can I uninstall XPostfacto from the completed CCC? It takes abut
6HRs to copy the volume and I'm 3 hrs into another attempt. If so
how can I uninstall?

Well another failure CCC, I uninstalled an reinstalled. So now I'm
going to initialize the volume an XpostFacto install a fresh Tiger on
it and then try Migration to get the volume on the internal disk.??
