PS: That suggestion about connection via a PC -- where can I learn more about that? My fiance uses a PC - probably less than 2 yrs old. (Not my fault.)
He sets up Internet sharing on the PC via whatever network connection that the cellular thingie isn't using, then you plug into it via that method.
(IE: if he's using a USB cellular device, he could share it via ethernet or via WiFi. The you plug in an ethernet switch (or use a crossover ethernet cable to connect directly to to his PC) and plug the Pismo into that.
If he has a wifi card, he can share it that way, then you can use the Airport in the pismo (if you have one, if not, check the LEM list they're pretty cheap nowadays) to connect, his computer will act as the 'base station'.
