Tests so far of a newly purchased (ebay) iBook, model A1134, 1.42
GHz, year 2005:
1) Turned machine on, get only the blinking question mark.
2) Inserted new Snow Leopard install dvd while it was 'on', it
spun for a bit and then it self-ejected
3) Started up (with Snow Leopard dvd already inserted) with 'c'
held down and got two symbols I am not familiar with: an arrow on
right , and a circled arrow on left, neither were functional.
4) Tried booting from a cd of disc warrior, same no response
5) Command, Option, P, and R. to reset pram, still no change from
blinking ? mark.
6) Started up with T held down, got the 'moving firewire symbol',
hooked up cable to my G4 tower and got error message of " disc
unreadable"
It also gave me the option to 'initialize it'.
7) Started up with X held down, just get flashing question mark
Sooo, am I right to presume it is likely the HD rather than some
more ethereal problem?
Could it be merely the HD install connections?
(seller said it came with a 'newly installed' 320 Gb HD and 'no
operating system installed')
Could initalizing iBook's HD from my main computer (via firewire)
be a solution?
Looks like a nice next step-up from our 400 MHz Pizmo, sure eager
to get it running.
Thanks for any suggestions!, Del
Snow Leopard intel only, it won't work on that PPC iBook. Try an
older OS.

Hey, hey, hey, hey-now. Don't be mean; we don't have to be mean, cuz,
remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
